My Quarantine Cookbook
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Inspire to Be has been unable to meet in person in order to protect the safety of our members. Nonetheless, we are continuing our efforts to help the community by supporting Laura’s House, which is supporting victims of domestic violence who may be stuck with an abusive partner or parent during the shelter in place. My Quarantine Cookbook is a fundraising effort in which Inspire to Be members create videos teaching residents of Orange County how to make their favorite foods at home. All proceeds from our fundraiser, run through GoFundMe, are donated directly to Laura's House. Please consider watching our videos and donating to the fundraiser below!

STEPS Project
Stay tuned & follow @schs_escape on Instagram for pictures & dates!
The STEPS project, run in collaboration with the Garden Club (run by the Special Education Program) and the Scouts, began early in 2019. Our volunteers are teaming up to construct The Escape, a serene sensory space for our special education students. We have opted to include many features within The Escape, including a LEGO wall, a swing, and paintable tiles. To prepare this special space, we have scheduled workdays both after school and on weekends (featuring food and music!) to clear out weeds, assemble furniture, and more. We hope that you will join us!
Tutorial by Inspire to Be
The Tutorial by Inspire To Be program at the San Clemente Public Library kicked off on November 18, 2017 at 10 AM. But the story doesn’t begin here: it was the culmination of months of preparation, collaboration, and advertising. First, we coordinated with the San Clemente Public Library to determine a location and time frame for the program. Then, we set up a booth in the center of the school to recruit teen volunteer tutors. Next, we contacted the principals, assistant principals, office managers, and other administrative officers of more than fifteen local elementary and middle school to inform them about our program. Our club officers even spoke to students, teachers, and parents during the morning assemblies of Our Savior Lutheran’s School and Clarence Lobo Elementary School. We are continuing to contact schools in our area in order to bring our free tutoring program to their attention.
Our program now runs every Saturday from 10 AM until noon at the San Clemente Public Library. It is a free resource for all elementary and middle school students to seek homework help from caring teen volunteer tutors. If you would like more information about the program or are interested in becoming a tutor, please visit our “Contact Us” page. If you would like to tutor, you can also text @itbt to 81010 to join the Remind system for volunteer tutors! We hope to see you at the library next Saturday! We are ALWAYS in need of pencils, lined paper, and basic math workbooks to supply our patrons. If you have anything to spare, please contact us or drop them off at the San Clemente Library: 242 Avenida Del Mar, San Clemente, CA 92672. Thank you! Advertising at Clarence Lobo Elementary School:
